About me (I'll keep it quick)
Thanks for visiting! I'm Jay Rigdon, a freelance writer, creator, and general online media person living in Culver, Indiana. I have a background in finance, having spent time as a licensed financial representative for three large corporations; in the end, I realized that perhaps big corporate finance isn't for me. (They seem to be doing fine without me.)
You can now find me editing and writing news and features for Awful Announcing and The Comeback, where I've been publishing since early 2016. Most recently, I was sent to cover the 2017 U.S. Open from Erin Hills, which was pretty much a career dream for me. I also published my first print piece in the Spring 2018 issue of The Golfer's Journal, on newsstands now. (Seriously, it's on actual newsstands, at Barnes & Noble and everything.)
I also spent a few years as a marketing coordinator for Alderfer Bergen in Warsaw, Indiana, as an all-around internet/marketing/press release/social media/photographer, and that was invaluable experience.
So how can I help you? Great question! If you're looking for someone to tell a story, across multiple mediums, I can help. Though the process might be more complex than that, it's really that simple. I have a passion for non-profit work, and I'd certainly love to do more of that, but if you think I might be able to help you get your story across, let me know.
